Musicals, Festivals & Rome

Drama – lost my power cord for the lap top, but found it!!!!!

MUSIC IS SYDNEY.

We just saw:-

SHOUT musical about iconic Johnny O’Keefe – Oz’s first rock and roller starring cousin LEXI FISHMAN!!!!!! She’s fantastic and watch for her to become a STAR!!!!

BILLY ELLIOT the musical – best choreography I have seen – power has new meaning with the miners striking and the cops attacking and the girls doing the ballet with BILLY ELLIOT trying to find the meaning of it all.

PHANTOM of the OPERA booked in for after ITALY.

Tory of course is seeing the bands with her friends -the festivals from VIBE to GOOD VIBRATIONS.

Flying to Rome today – on the way to Bologna Book Fair!

MonkeyBaa Theatre sent draft play of I AM JACK

So exciiiiiiittttting.

MONKEY BAA Theatre emailed me the first draft of the adaptation of the play I AM JACK which starts touring regional NSW theatres in August.

I’m too nervous to read it. It’s scary but …. imagine seeing my book on stage.

Libby Gleeson, Laurine Croasdale, Linday Batchelor, Susanne Gervay meet at The Hughenden

It was a fantastic meeting at The Hughenden. We’re all keen to celebrate the fantastic creativity of Oz kids’ literature. We’re thinking about a Children’s Laureate like in the UK and USA.

What do you think?

Bologna Fair – Gervay's Nearly There

Working like mad. There’s authors to meet, showcases to present, panels to talk on and parties and dinners and … it’s going to be fun.

Norman Jorgenson Author Visits The Hughenden

Norman stayed at The Hughenden this week because it’s a writer’s hotel and he’s an award winning author from WA on a Sydney visit.

We had a great catch-up and I saw his terrific new books.
