It’s about partnerships with the villages and communities who commit to educating their children.

It’s also about partnerships with children and adults from Australia sponsoring these kids.

I met at The Hughenden, with the dynamic Jennie Orchard, the passionate advocate of the new Australian chapter of Room to Read in Australia.

Books for Breakfast Friday 6th February is launching Room to Read in Australia at the State Library of NSW with Australian children’s authors support including Markus Zusak, Melina Marchetta, Chris Cheng and me.

9 p.m. fireworks from our balcony with Tory and her friends. One of the boys was the DJ. Afterwards they walked down to Bondi Beach to the Shore Festival. I stayed on at home to celebrate the midnight fireworks with family and good friends. The fireworks were spectacular.

May 2009 be a good year for everyone.
