A Writer in Paris

Fabulous food in ParisAdventures already:-

Loved the Eurostar train from London to Paris – fast and furious and chatted with a young Spanish English teacher.

Got ‘stung’ arriving at Paris Nord train station when spotted by a ‘shark’ who saw the dumb, lone, female writer piled with luggage looking lost.

Good news, it that I eventually worked it out and only lost 5 Euros and I learnt NOT to respond to any stranger approaching me. In Paris, you’re approached by SCAMMERS at the tourist spots but I know now, so could have a great time from now on.

Staying at a cute hotel on Rue de Rivoli – small, old worldly like The Hughenden, but wow, the Hughenden is huge and fantastic  in comparison,

Highlights:-

Food, food, food and  cobbled streets, Louvre, Les Puce Flea Market (antiques and arts)

– Flea Market was curious with illustrator  Frane Lessac and writer Mark Greenwood, as they see the intrinsic art value and discover  the quirky. More news in next blog – hilarious.  LOVED it.

Dinner at Notre Dame in a little old restaurant with Frane & Mark – soooo much fun – and brought my SHEEP from my picture book ‘Ship in the Field’ – not to eat but to bleat around.

Homeless in ParisDelicacies in ParisDistressed by the many homeless and beggars on Paris streets – they say these people come from Roumania and the former Iron Curtain countries.

Caught up with French illustrator Jeanne de la Marie from SCBWI where we enjoyed coffee and wine in an outdoor cafe with Parisons and shared our books and talked publishing of course.
