Crossing rocky streams, bush tracks, eucalyptus trees, yellow crested cockatoos, a country pub, an 1860 school house, horses, rolling hills, cattle …. sheep, sheep, sheep.
A trip into the bush
3 old school friends
Joy – a travel journalist
Jacquie – a human rights advocate
Me – a children’s writer.
Driving through paddocks of ‘Ships in the Field’, we saw sheep with wool, shawn, with baby lambs and I remembered my father.
I wrote ‘Ships in the Field’ about my father and his love of the land and how he called sheep, ships with his European accent.
We all love our land and bush.
