The boys are SMART and creative and I loved talking with them about bringing their ideas into creative work. Story is about VOICE. That means THEM. It’s what the writer thinks, their character, view of life, humour, sadness. I used this section from my book ‘The Cave’ – and the boys got it immediately. The girls at St Ursula’s are fantastic with lots of questions. They’re smart and giggly. One of the girls came up to me to say that ‘That’s Why I Wrote This Song’ was the best book she’s ever read and that she had read it four times already. It makes writing worth it!
