The Australian Writer Ambassadors are on board – giving kids in the developing world the right to education and hope for the future.

In in 2014 some of their activities included:-
Deborah Abela, Kate Forsyth and Susanne Gervay’s launched their new books – New City, The Impossible Quest, Being Jack – at Stanmore Public with a gold coin donation for Room to Read;
The SCBWI Biannual Conference auction of Stephen Axelson and Bruce Whately’s illustrations – raised nearly $1500.
Room to Read is the official charity for SCBWI Australia East & New Zealand
Melina Marchetta’s featured Room to Read on her blog of Room to Read
The mega launch of Susanne’s ‘Being Jack’ with a performance at Monkey Baa’s theatre at Darling Harbour with more than $4000 raised for Destination Literacy.
The inclusion of ‘Room to Read’ in the narrative of Susanne’s 4th and final ‘I Am Jack’ book – called Being Jack with a full page information sheet.

2014 has been a big year for Australia’s writer ambassadors for Room to Read.
2015 is kicking off with a Writer Ambassador planning get-together at The Hughenden Hotel in Sydney on 2nd January.
