Travelling 700 kilometres across New South Wales

Men of League at Australia Day ConobolinI travelled more than 700 kilometres, gave 5 Australia Day addresses, participated in the great yabby race, was part of the moving citizenship ceremonies welcoming new citizens with Federal Member of Parliament Mark Coulton and Mayor John Medcalf, ate fabulous pavlovas made by the Progressive Association of Women, loved the Aussie barbecues cooked by the Men of League, had tears in my eyes giving citizenship awards to extraordinary country people who have given generously over many years in every aspect of country life from the voluntary Fire Brigade to community nursing … and was welcomed into the communities of Condobolin, Lake Cargelligo, Tullibigeal, Tottenham, Fifield and more.

THANKYOU to the Lachlan Shire for making me part of your wonderful community on Australia Day!

I won’t forgot you and thankyou for the most amazing experiences. @AusDay @australiaday26

I'm a writer committed to kids in particular. Adults are good too. Want to bring hope through story to my readers. Awarded an Order of Australia, Lady Cutler Award and a Lifetime International Award for Literacy for my body of work, spreading literacy is really important. I'm head of SCBWI Australia East & New Zealand, patron of Monkey Baa Theatre, Ambassador for the Premier's Reading Challenge, Writer Ambassador for Room to Read ... among other roles. I also love heritage and adapting to enhance the lives of people today, which is why I restored The Hughenden Hotel 1870s and The Residences Centennial Park - the only homes in the parklands which are open now for accommodation, events and lots of nature.

    Dear Susanne.
Thank you. I am thinking of writing a book, and it’s going to be quite funny. Do you mind to give me some tips for starting off? Should I come up with a plot before writing it?
    A huge fan

Yes, I was tired but it was truly wonderful to meet country people.

Writing tips – really enjoy and think about your writing and write what interests you. Writing is like talking, but on the [age. It’s good to have a theme or central idea before you start a piece. I make very small plots as I like the story to unfold.

OK. Thanks for the tips. My main character has 3 siblings and she comes into hilarious mishaps. Is there any authors you would like to meet if time travel were real?? I think if I could meet an author in a time travel it would probably be Beverly Cleary, Enid Blyton and Lucy Montgomery.
    Lots of Love and admiration
PS Whats the weather like in Sydney? In Tassie we’re having a big storm at the moment.
